Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity is an organization which aim is to raise the money for supporting The Great Ormond Street Hospital. Charity became a separate legal entity from the hospital in 1998. Hospital itself was founded in 1852 by Dr Charles West. It was the first hospital in the UK dedicated solely to the treatment of children.
In 2013 after several successful events organized for Polish charity (the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity) Hurricane of Hearts has decided to create a concert to raise money for the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.

We have contacted the charity at the beginning of 2013 in hope of cooperation. We wanted to build a similar connection as we have already had with GOCC. We haven’t been disappointed. Soon after our letter GOSH had contacted us to set an appointment and discuss further steps. The project is in progress and we can happily announce that the first concert  in cooperation with the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity is going to happen onthe 21st of September 2014.

Our event will take place at the Potters Fields Park next to the iconic Tower Bridge and the London Mayor’s
Office. The concert is expected to bring in 10,000 people. It will star Ruth Lorenzo – the Spanish representative at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest and artists from the popular TV show X Factor.

We are going to raise money for the Haemodiafiltration (HDF) Machine. The new machines will allow the hospital to make HDF available to younger children, who were previously deemed unsuitable for HDF due to their small size and blood volume.

Children with kidney disease require life-long renal replacement therapy (such as haemodiafiltration [HDF] or haemodialysis). This involves filtering a patient’s blood with a machine and special tubing to remove waste products and water. In HDF replacement fluid is added and the blood is then returned to the patient; this makes it a more thorough way of cleaning the blood but at the same time it is gentler on the body. HDF is the most efficient type of dialysis.

We are working hard to make an unforgettable event which brings us lots of fun and at the same time helps to improve health and save life of many children.
