The day we have been waiting for so long has come. So here we are.
On 1st of September 2013 the Activities4Kids’ team, with the assistance and collaboration of the volunteers from the Hurricane of Hearts, organised a children’s event “Farewell to the summer with Nikos” – a recreational weekend activities for families and for everyone who wanted to have a bit of fun, combined with a campaign to collect money for a lovely little boy – Nikos, who needs a heart operation.
We were lucky to enjoy a wonderful, sunny day which was perfect for such an event. The Activities4Kids’ team built a small fun-town with a bouncy castle (many thanks for the Wacky Warehouse) in the back garden of a traditional English pub (Fyre and Square, Ballot Box).
You could find everything for a perfect weekend with your family. Face painting, glitter tattoos, family pictures, handicraft and many, many more games and amusements for both children and parents so everyone could enjoy themselves.
You could also buy clothes, souvenirs and toys at the car boot sale. All the profits were devoted to Nikodem’s surgery.
Musician Matt Smok and DJ Pawel heated up the atmosphere of this terrific afternoon. Participants witnessed the Birdie Song dance performed by Polish children.
The event turned out to be a great success as seen in the number of pictures with smiley faces taken during the afternoon. We also collected £318.96 for Nikos!
A big thanks to Ania Mac and Darek Wieczkowski who were the authors of the idea. A big thanks also to everyone who was with us on that afternoon and your contribution helped to fix Nikos’ heart.
